Ive been a certified forecaster for a couple of months now (in fact i certified early) but sometimes i feel like im not ready. theres been a few times when i come up with a forecast and the hub forecaster shuts it down, and giving their reasoning. usually ill go with it and it sometimes ends up with me having the correct forecast in the first place and im just like
im not very familiar with severe wx seeing as we never see it here and we weren’t really taught in depth in tech school how to forecast it but the day i was getting certified the hub was wanting to forecast it and i was like “no i don’t want it in the forecast, i don’t think we’ll see it”. now when lightning strikes withing 5 miles, i issue a lightning warning. this line of thunderstorms approach from the SW and it starts to break apart like they always do. one ts went to our west and landed one strike on us, and the other clipped our eastern radius. smfh
